Do You Have to Pay a Deposit to Rent a Water Slide?
Yes — most water slide rentals require a deposit to lock in your date, and Big Wave Slides is no different. You reserve your slide with a 50% deposit, then pay the remaining 50% about 48 hours before your event. Part of your total also acts as a fully refundable damage deposit, returned in full when you cancel at least 7 days ahead. Rentals start at $199/day, delivered and set up.
Why do water slide rentals need a deposit?
A deposit does two jobs. First, it holds your date — summer weekends book fast, and once you've put a deposit down, that slide is yours and comes off the calendar for everyone else. Second, a portion of it protects the equipment. Commercial-grade inflatables like the Mega Monsoon 28 or Blue Vortex 26 are a serious investment, so a refundable damage deposit keeps rentals affordable for everyone while covering the rare case of real damage.
How much is the deposit at Big Wave Slides?
To reserve your date, you pay 50% of your quote upfront — that's your booking deposit. The remaining 50% is due about 48 hours before setup on event day. So if you rent the Tropical Wave 18 or a compact Aqua Wave 15, half locks it in today and half is paid just before we roll up.
Separately, 30% of your total is treated as a refundable damage deposit — it's already inside your quote, not an extra charge, and it comes straight back to you after the event once the slide is returned in good condition.
Is the deposit refundable?
The damage-deposit portion is fully refundable. If you cancel at least 7 days before your event, you get it back in full — no questions. We'd always rather reschedule than have you lose money, so if the weather turns or plans change, reach out early and we'll work with you. Our rain and weather policy covers what happens if a storm rolls in on the day.
When is the rest of the balance due?
The balance — the other 50% — is due about 48 hours before setup. That gives everyone certainty: your date is locked, the crew is scheduled, and there are no surprises on event morning. You'll get a clear invoice showing exactly what's paid and what's left, whether you booked the family-friendly Castle Splash Combo or a towering Tidal Tower 27.
How do you actually pay the deposit?
Everything is quote-based — there's no online checkout and we never charge your card automatically. You request a quote, we send it over, and when you accept, your invoice appears on your secure order page. You pick how to pay (Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay, Chime, or Bitcoin) and the exact details show up right there.
Paying by Bitcoin takes 11.5% off your whole invoice — a real saving on a bigger rental like the Palm Paradise 24 racing slide or the Mega Waterpark Combo. If crypto isn't your thing, the other rails work exactly the same, just without the discount.
Does the deposit change by slide size or event?
The 50%-to-book, 50%-before structure is the same whether you rent a toddler-friendly Lil' Splash Junior for a backyard birthday or outfit a whole school or church event with several units. Bigger orders simply have bigger totals, so the deposit scales with them. For HOA and neighborhood events or pool parties, we're happy to quote multiple slides together so you see one clear deposit for the whole day.
Wherever you are — from Dallas to anywhere we serve nationwide — delivery, professional setup, anchoring, sanitizing, and full insurance are always included in that price.
